My journey into UX began long before I knew what it was called. As the eldest child of first-generation immigrant parents, I was often the bridge—translating language, navigating systems, and helping my family overcome barriers shaped by cultural differences. Trips to distant grocery stores for culturally specific ingredients made me wonder why accessibility wasn’t universal. These experiences shaped my passion for solving real-world problems through design.

How I Started

My love for creating started with art, where I discovered the power of visual storytelling. I have a background in Computer Science in which it has deepened my technical understanding and introduced me to the world of front-end design. I found joy in bringing ideas to life through code. But it was in UX where everything came together—empathy, creativity, and problem-solving—to craft meaningful, inclusive experiences.

My Interdisciplinary Background

My name is Rena, a UX Designer and Researcher. I focus on designing user-centered solutions that make life easier and brighter for everyone. Whether through user research, content strategy, or design systems, I aim to create work that fosters connection, accessibility, and joy—helping bridge divides and build a more inclusive world digitally/physically.

So, Who am I?

I find enjoyment in creating art (painting, drawing, pottery), indulging myself in books, scrapbooking, photography and engaging in cozy video games or spending quality time connecting with friends. I also love to cook!
